It has been a crazy, full-on few months! Many things have changed in my work life and personal life and I have recently made the decision to move client side after three fantastic years at Performics (previously FirstClick Consulting and now part of Publicis Media).
Over the past few months I have been named as one of the top 5 finalists for the ADMA Australian Young Marketer of the Year, worked abroad in New York, produced data driven content strategies for impressive companies such as Toyota, The Victorian Government and Red Energy, moved into a new apartment with my partner and my sister let me know that she has another beautiful little baby on the way.
Anyone who knows me would know that I like to get involved in as much of the digital marketing industry as I can, I regularly catch up with mentors, organise and attend training sessions and events and I have just joined the Victorian 30Below ADMA committee to continue to put myself out there and help build my personal brand in the industry.
By getting so involved in the digital industry, I have been able to take a peek at the wider world of marketing and line up a new senior client side Digital Marketing Manager role at iSelect Australia. This role has a large focus on SEO and Content and I’m really excited about this opportunity and this next step in my career.
iSelect are an Australian company who are really understanding and embracing digital. It will be great to take what I have learnt agency side for multiple brands and to focus my time and passion into one brand which I really believe in.
Three years is considered a long time in an agency these days and I've really enjoyed my time at Performics - I've travelled, been promoted, worked on some of Australia's leading household brands, rock climbed, attended many trivia and karaoke nights, worked with some amazingly talented people and brands and have met some people who I see as true friends and invaluable mentors.
Although a few months ago I got to a point where felt like I needed a change to continue learning, I felt that it was time for me to learn a whole lot more, to experience life on both sides of the fence and to fully understand both perspectives of agency side and client side businesses.
Even though I will be leaving agency land, I will always be a major supporter of search and digital agencies, especially Performics and I have a lot of respect and admiration for the people that started the agency ten years ago, how it has changed over the years and where it's going on a global scale.
I’m really looking forward to a bright future in digital marketing and focusing solely on the success of one great Australian brand. I’m excited to broaden my digital experience and gain greater exposure to business challenges that drive marketing and business objectives - and also to have some more fun along the way.
Wish me luck!
